Whats your fitness background?
1. CF L-1; Olympic Lifting coaching clinic; Lifelong athlete with a love of all sports (except bowling. I suck.) Found CrossFit at 43 years old and was hooked.
Whats your favorit lift or training style and why?
2. Clean and Jerk. So dynamic and a great combination of strength and technique. Any workout with barbell conditioning. Exhausting yourself with a barbell in your hands feels powerful.
What do you love most about coaching at NBCF?
3. All the people: their stories, journeys, careers, families, etc. A great community.
What's one fun fact about you outside of the gym?
4. I will say yes to almost any adventure. I’ve skydived, scuba dived, eaten indescribable foods in foreign places, run with the bulls in Spain, jumped off the Old Bridge in Bosnia, polar bear plunged in Russia, and a bunch of other foolishness. If you need a partner to do something sketchy…
What's your coaching philosophy or the #1 thing you hope members take away from one of your classes?
5. The question I ask folks after my classes, especially when I hear them lament their struggles with advanced movements or scaling weight: “do you feel like you got in a good workout today? Then that’s all that matters.”
